The third edition of GOY-sponsored Ikoyi/Obalende LCDA vocational training is currently in top gear as training is earnestly on-going.
Hon Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu member representing Eti-Osa Constituency 02 in the Lagos State House of Assembly had at the commencement of the programme sponsored a total of one hundred and eleven (111) students for training in various fields of endeavors such as catering, bead making, hairdressing, tailoring, and computer training.
Elated students partaking in the training programme heaped praises on Hon Yishawu saying that this opportunity that the legislator provided them is one that they must fully utilize.
A top official of Ikoyi/Obalende LCDA who craves anonymity said that since the inception of the programme, Hon. Yishawu has been a pillar behind the programme, explaining that aside sponsoring students for the programme GOY had in addition being providing graduands with tools with which to commence the knowledge they have acquired.
He recalled that GOY has also assisted the centre with equipment that will advance quality practical  knowledge delivery.
Taofiq Agbalaya and Hassanat Abdukarim, students in catering department and hairdressing department, thanked Hon. Yishawu for availing them this opportunity to become useful citizens of this community and pray that God will continue to bless him.

Commenting on the programme, Hon Yishawu explained that his sponsorship of the project is not predicated on his membership of the Lagos State House of Assembly, but that the quest for youth empowerment is something that has always been dear to his heart.
That, he said, is apparent from the fact that he started sponsoring the programme, even before he became a member of the house of Assembly.
He explained that sponsoring such a programme that empowers these number of people is important to him because the graduates of this programme will ultimately  become employers of labour thus curbing the scourge of unemployment in the community.
