As Christians all over the world celebrate the Easter, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 has called on Lagosians to sacrifice their time by staying at home to chase out coronavirus away from the country.
The lawmaker, who is Chairman House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning in his Easter message on Friday said, “as we celebrate, let’s hold fast to hope, remembering what the season represents as we fight COVID-19.
“Let us also continue practising social distancing with good hygiene. We must adhere strictly to the directives of the government by celebrating this day in our homes. As early stated by our government, the lockdown is very much active to curtail the spread of this virus.
“At this juncture, no Nigerian should play with this deadly virus or the impact made all over the world and the only way to prevent its spread is to abide with a warning from the medical experts on self-hygiene”, Yishawu said.
While he appreciated the resilience of Lagosians, Yishawu assured that this time will pass coupled with obedience to government directives and constant prayers to God.
He wishes Lagosians and his constituents in particular happy Easter celebrations.
This year’s Easter celebration is significant in the sense that people all over the world have to remain in their homes to celebrate and pray to God against the pandemic that has killed thousands of people.
It would be recalled that Christians all over the world celebrate Easter to mark Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death.
