A member of Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 has called on parents to do everything possible to allay the fears of their children and wards as nations of the world battle coronavirus.
Yishawu, who is Chairman House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, while celebrating with children assured that this time will definitely pass.
According to him, the impact of the COVID-19 on children cannot be ignored. For them, it has brought fear and uncertainties. Today, as we celebrate children’s day, let us spend time to reassure them that this too will pass.
Yishawu said these children might wonder why schools remain closed, saying it is the duty of parents to educate them on covid-19 and reassure the children that the Covid-19 will end soon.
In another development, the lawmaker urged parents to train their children the right way and to inculcate moral values in order to prevent them from being wayward or constitute nuisance to the society.
“parents have major roles to play in the upbringing of children and if there is a lacuna, there will be problems and this would affect the society at large. I want to celebrate our children on this day and their parents who have been doing tremendous jobs most especially in this Covid-19 pandemic. We shall all enjoy our children “, Yishawu prayed.
