Thousands of young people, party faithful, and residents flooded the streets of Eti-Osa Constituency II on Sunday 17th May 2026, in a powerful show of solidarity for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Honourable Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu, reaffirming grassroots support for the Renewed Hope movement ahead of the forthcoming primaries. #IStandWithPBATGOY
The youth solidarity rally, held under the theme “Moving Forward Together,” was organised to mobilise grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) and to advocate for the continued representation of Hon. Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu (GOY) in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Participants began gathering at the Y-Arena on Awolowo Road as early as 5:30 AM for registration and coordination. Following a safety and security briefing that emphasised peaceful conduct, the walk was officially flagged off despite the threat of rain. The rally was notably driven by young professionals, first time voters, grassroots coordinators and community groups who turned out voluntarily despite early morning rainfall concerns.
The energetic crowd marched through a designated route encompassing major hubs in the constituency, including the Onikan Roundabout, Bonny Camp, Adeola Odeku, Akin Adesola, and Falomo. Along the way, participants engaged in grassroots voter sensitisation, interacting directly with local residents to emphasise the importance of political participation and party unity.
A major highlight of the event was a Special Solidarity Stop along the Bourdillon axis, near the residence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. At this point, youth leaders led the crowd in a disciplined solidarity salute and coordinated expressions of party support. The community walk concluded successfully back at the Y-Arena with a formal youth declaration of support, group photographs, and closing appreciation remarks from Yishawu.
Speaking during the goodwill remarks, Gbolahan Yishawu thanked the teeming crowd for their peaceful and genuine demonstration of the community’s desire for stability and continuity. He further noted that the massive voluntary turnout of young people serves as a strong indication of the constituency’s confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the progressive movement.
“This movement is not about noise. It is about people who believe in continuity, stability, and the future of our country and constituency,” Honourable Yishawu stated while addressing supporters.
Political observers say the scale, discipline, and organic youth participation witnessed during the solidarity walk have further strengthened the progressive movement’s momentum across Eti-Osa Constituency II ahead of the party primaries.
